Open Letter to Mr Ambassador of Israel in France

Your Excellency,
“Le Mouvement de la Paix” protests against the acts of violence in the village of Bil’in and in all the villages of cisjordanie who organize a non violent and popular resistance against the wall and the occupation of their territories.
In Bil’in, the inhabitants can’t cultivate 60% of their lands. All weeks, since four years, they organize a pacifist demonstration to reach the wall and the road who separate them from their fields of olive trees , with the support of israelian and international pacifists . Those demonstrations are very harshly suppressed by Israelian army, and every week, some demonstrators are hurted.
Since several weeks, the suppression has increased, in April 17th, a youg man living in the village has been shot , as he was pacifically walking near the soldiers, and died..
A lot of houses have been devastated by israelian soldiers and a lot of inhabitants have been arrested, among them, two young men of 16 and 17.
Those facts are scandalous because all the demonstrations are pacifist and non violent ones. The only wish of Bil’in inhabitants is to gain the right to live and work on their lands in peace.
This right has been recognized in 2007 by the Israelian Hight Court of Justice who ordered a modification of the wall , this has never been realized.
The “Mouvement de la Paix” wishes a pacific resolution of this conflict, by the respect of international resolutions , with the co-existence of two states.
There is no military resolution to this problem, only a pacifist one and our organisation supports the more and more important non violent resistance in all occupied territories and in Jerusalem.
This resistance is a great hope for Palestinian population , it is supported by a lot of international and even israelian pacifists who meted in the Conference of Bil’in last April, where “Mouvement de la Paix” was represented.
The Israelian government tries, by its violent actions to break this resistance, but it’s a dead end , because the colonisation of those territories has been condemned by both Presidents Obama, and Sarkosy.
The popular council in Bil’in, with a great determination, asks for support from international institutions , and from Canadian government with the help of Canadian organisations.
The “Mouvement de la Paix” protests against the Israelian marine attitude who forbade to a ship of “free gaza” organisation to reach the coast to deliver medical supplies , with the presence on board of English and irish pacifists, among them Mairead Corrigan Maguire, Nobel Prize of Peace.
The security of Israelian population will not be guaranted by violence but by a global resolution of the conflict, in a pacific way.
The reppression against Palestinian population and colonsation must stop and the rights of this people have to be respected..
We join to this letter the letter we sent in this way to President Sarkozy
