IDF says it'll soon complete moving Bil'in security barrier

[Jerusalem Post] The IDF announced on Wednesday that the route of the West Bank security barrier that passes near the Palestinian village of Bil’in will soon be altered in compliance with a court order.

In a move ordered by the High Court nearly four years ago and approved by the Defense Ministry three years later, the army plans to move the fence west, away from the village’s land and closer to Modi’in Illit.

[AIC] The 6th Annual Bil’in Conference on the Palestinian Popular Struggle opened Wednesday, 20 April, in the West Bank village of Bil’in.

The day was a full one, with speeches by Palestinian Prime Minister Salam Fayyad, Jaber Wishah of the Palestinian Center for Human Rights announced the launch of a humanitarian monitoring boat off the coast of Gaza, memorial speeches commemorating the life of recently murdered activist Vittorio Arrigoni, as well as words from Cindy Corrie, the mother of the slain activist Rachel Corrie.

[Ha’aretz] Anyone who suspects the Supreme Court and its judges of leftism should read the latest ruling on "The Israeli Seam Zone Permit Regime." In plain language, this is the bureaucratic machinery that the Defense Ministry and the Civil Administration have created to restrict to the absolute minimum Palestinians’ entry, time spent, and ability to live and work on lands in the West Bank that are west of the separation fence. To be more exact, it refers to Israel’s annexation of 184,868 dunams (about 45,682 acres ), for now, of Palestinian land trapped between the fence and the Green Line.
