Bil'in, Jayyous, Budrus, Ni'lin: Arrests, Injuries and Live Ammunition

[AATW] Friday noon, around the same time as the Israeli Cabinet rejected the UN’s Security Council ceasefire resolution and Foreign Minister Livni promised "Israel is not going to show restraint", activists were taking part in the weekly Friday demonstrations of Bil’in, Jayyous and Ni’ilin. Residents of these three villages (and of many others) protested against the construction of the Apartheid Wall, Israeli settlements, and against the war on Gaza.

Women Protest in Bil'in for Gaza

The women and children of Bil’in today marched in a solidarity protest for Gaza. The protest was joined by international women. Palestinian flags were carried and also symbolic coffins presenting the massacres against the citizens of Gaza and especially women and children.The women walked through the streets of the village singing slogans in solidarity with the women in Gaza who have been killed or lost children and family. They also called for a national unity among Palestinians and called for help from the Arab leaders.

Fourth youth killed by Israeli army in West Bank

[ISM] Mofid Saleh Walwil, a 20 year old resident of Qalqiliya, was killed by Israeli forces at approximately 1pm on Sunday 4th December, making him the fourth Palestinian to be killed by the Israeli army in the West Bank in the past week.

In another demonstration today in Bil’in Palestinian, international, and Israeli activists carried Palestinian flags and flags for all of the Palestinian political parties as an invitation for national unity and abandonment of internal fighting in order to resist the Israeli occupation. The demonstrators also carried symbolic coffins representing Palestinian children and citizens killed during the Israeli attacks on Gaza. Posters of Ehud Olmert, Tzipi Livni, Ehud Barak and George Bush saying "Enough killing, vampires!" were carried as well.

Mohammed Khawaje, shot by Israeli forces in Ni’lin while demonstrating in solidarity with Gaza, has died

A Palestinian man, who was left brain-dead on the 28th December after being shot in the head with live ammunition by Israeli forces in the village of Ni’lin, died this evening.

Israeli forces shot 20 year old Mohammed Khawaje in the forehead with live ammunition as he was demonstrating in the village of Ni’lin against the Israeli massacres in Gaza. He was pronounced brain-dead on the evening of the 31st December.
